Transport Minister Ro Filipe Tuisawau has called on the Land Transport Authority to up their game as he ordered an urgent investigation into the bus accident in Lautoka on Wednesday where two children lost their limbs. He said the LTA must immediately look into bus companies and their standards. That’s the big story on page 1 of The Fiji Times for Friday, June 23.

The second story on the front page is about Fijians who have been trafficked throughout the Pacific and to far off countries such as Egypt. International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Fiji project coordinator Venina Niumataiwalu, speaking during a Migrant Labour, Human Trafficking, and the Media seminar in Suva, said Fijians have been exploited in other Pacific countries, including Australia and New Zealand, for forced labour and exploitation.
