FTU election provisional result
It stated: These are the candidates that have been declared winners as per the provisional results released today. The Final Results will be first conveyed to the Union and then released in due course.

HEAD of Catholic Church of Fiji Archbishop Peter Loy Chong says two-thirds of women in this country have experienced violence in some form. He said because of this, children would be exposed to violent and disturbing situations.

Vaccine supply
THE current COVID-19 vaccine supply has been exhausted, a statement from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services revealed.
New border cases
FIJI has recorded four new border quarantine cases of COVID-19. In a statement, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services said the first two cases were a 38-year-old female and a 15-year-old male, who were family members that travelled to Fiji from Manila, Philippines, arriving in Nadi on flight NZ952 from Auckland on April 8.
Vaccine from China
COVID-19 vaccines from China are expected to arrive in the country soon. Chinese ambassador to Fiji, Qian Bo confirmed this while handing over police equipment to the Fiji Police Force earlier this week in Narere, Nasinu.

THE continued attacks from SODELPA MP Lynda Tabuya calling on both the party leader and the president to resign is a direct attack on democracy and Is an insult to the voters who had consistently voted for the party since 2014. SODELPA president Ratu Epenisa Cakobau said Ms Tabuya’s utterances were an example of “someone who cannot be taught nor listen”.

TWO-thirds of women in this country have experienced violence in some form, says the head of the Catholic Church of Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong. And as a result, he said, the expectation was that a lot of children would be exposed to violent and disturbing situations.

A first for a Fijian?
A NADROGA lass could be the first woman with Fijian roots to have graduated from the United States Army Airborne School. Anaseini Navue Vetuku of Korotogo, Sigatoka, said she pushed herself in order to change the stereotypical view of women in many societies. The 20-year-old said after passing basic training, she enrolled in the airborne school at Fort Benning, Georgia.

FORMER Flying Fijians and All Blacks wing Joeli Vidiri yesterday scored the try of his life when he married his sweetheart Lavenia Ratabua in Sacramento, California yesterday. The former Auckland Blues Super Rugby flyer flew into California on Thursday and tied the knot in front of a group of close family and friends.
