FRCS gives relief packs

THE Fiji Red Cross Society has begun distributing its relief packs to those affected by the recent floods in the Western Division.

FRCS marketing and events manager Bridget Middenway-Blüme said they would continue distributing these kits throughout the week.

“FRCS has been distributing basic household items and pre-packed kits to the Western Division since Easter weekend,” Mrs Middenway- Blüme said.

She said FRCS would continue with the distribution of relief packs until the end of the week through its Western divisional office and the emergency operation centres in Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki which had been activated.

She added the distributions were directed to affected persons who had been assessed.

“Distribution is done in conjunction with commissioners’, provincial administrators’ or district officers’ offices and situational reports are generated daily to track distribution and needs of affected persons.”

Mrs Middenway-Blüme also advised those willing to offer gifts that FRCS could assist them with information on where individuals or groups could direct their gifts to.
