FRA to undertake upgrading works on Fiji’s busy jetties

THE Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will focus on improving and upgrading the status of the busiest jetties around Fiji.

Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services Jone Usamate revealed this in Parliament last week saying upgrading works would help provide improved access, improved waiting facilities and street lighting.

He said repair works would also be carried out in Savusavu as a means to provide safe docking for rural vessels.

He said the FRA would be investigating and later be required to provide a detailed design work for jetties in Koro, Makogai, Moala, Nabukeru, Wainiyabia and Vunisea.

It has been confirmed as well that immediate improvement works would be carried out at the Natovi and Nabouwalu jetties too.
