Four years in jail for drug possession

Update: 11:00AM A 49-year-old self-employed man of Wainadoi (west of Suva) near the Queens Rd was sentenced to four years imprisonment with a non-parole period of two years and nine months after he pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and another of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.

The summary
of facts states that police on November 4, 2014 searched Ilaitia Tuituba’s residence where they found 443.6grams of marijuana and on the same
day police cultivated 7.6kg of marijuana from his farm.

Tuituba
appeared before High Court judge Justice Vinsent Perera.
