The four-nation Netball Quad Series between New Zealand, Australia, England and South Africa which was due to be played here and in Australia has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 coronavirus.

However, Netball New Zealand is still hopeful is the annual four-match Constellation Cup series between the world champion Silver Ferns and the Diamonds will go ahead.

Netball New Zealand’s director of high performance, Keir Hansen, said it was now looking at providing a domestic programme for the Silver Ferns once the domestic ANZ Premiership was completed.

It was likely to include games for the Silver Ferns against the New Zealand men’s side and an All Stars lineup similar to the Ferns build up to last year’s World Cup in England.

“All four participating nations have together looked at various scenarios to see if we could make it work however we all agreed that due to impact of Covid-19 on international travel cancelling the 2020 Netball Quad Series scheduled for September was the only option.”
