Rotary Pacific Water Foundation has assisted 300 communities around the country access safe drinking water and improved sanitation facilities.

The foundation’s chief executive Neil Maharaj said the assistance provided was aimed at ensuring rural dwellers received safe drinking water.

“Our primary goal is to make sure that settlements and villages have sanitation and safe water quality and we have installed 300 water systems and more than 150 sanitation systems in Bua, Cakaudrove, Macuata, Ra, Naitasiri and other parts of the country,” he said.

“Our work has been made possible through kind donors who have provided the best water systems for communities.

“The water system at Koronatoga is sand filtration and safely distributed to the 62 households.”

Mr. Maharaj said numerous tests had been carried out to ensure that water supplied from the new system was according to national standards.
