PACIFIC Islands Forum leaders converging in Funafuti, Tuvalu this week for the 50th PIF leaders meeting have been invited to spend more days to see firsthand the devastating impacts of climate change on the Pacific atoll nation.

Tuvaluan Prime Minister Enele Sopoaga said he hoped leaders would remain in Tuvalu until the end of the forum week to gain more insight about their island home.

“I certainly wish the leaders coming here will have the chance to look, see and feel for their stories,” he said.

The forum leaders meeting will be officially opened tonight.
