Former national rep dies

FORMER Fiji halfback Waisea Suka has died.

Suka, who represented Fiji in 1990, was also a member of the national squad during the 1991 World Cup in Europe.

He failed to recover from a long illness and peacefully died at his home on Sunday afternoon.

The 55-year-old rugger also represented Nadroga before joining the military in 1987 and was a regular member of the champion Army Rugby Club which also had big names like Esala Teleni, Koli Rakoroi, Fotu Waqabaca, Tevita Vonolagi, Nemani Matirewa, Eroni Ravore, Sela Gutugutuwai, Sakeasi Vonolagi, Alivereti Dere and a few others.

He will be laid to rest at his village in Semo, Nadroga today.
