Former Fiji Drua player signs contract with French Top 14 club

FORMER Fiji Airways Drua player Peceli Nacebe has secured a new and lucrative contract with the Brive Rugby Union in France.

The Mavua, Nadroga native who came to Fiji last week said he was fortunate enough to have signed the two years deal after finishing from his former club the Bordeaux Rugby Union.

Nacebe joins players such as Seva Galala, Dominiko Waqaniburotu and Peniame Naresia who are also part of the team.

“I am so blessed to have signed this new contract and I thank God for this opportunity,” he said.

“Despite the challenges and the sacrifices one has to make, I just can say that God has forever been faithful to me.”

The 22-year-old showed a brilliant performance with the Fijian Drua in their debut season on the NRC last year.

He made his debut for the Drua on the wing scoring a brace against Brisbane City.

Nacebe went on to feature predominantly during the season before signing the deal with the Top 14 Club Union Bordeaux and then move on to Brive.

The club has also produced other former top Fijian stars such as Sisa Koyamaibole, Norman Ligairi and Filimoni Bolavucu.

Another well-known player who played for the club is Ben Cohen, who played for the winning England team at the Rugby World Cup in 2003.
