Foreign Affairs staff reminded to serve with integrity

SERVE with integrity and promote Fiji’s best interests both nationally and internationally.

A total of 23 new staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were reminded of this by the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Major General (Ret’d) Ioane Naivalurua during the two days induction training.

Mr Naivalurua said given the Ministry’s dynamic role to coordinate both offshore and onshore programs, it demands commitment and decisive actions by the team to maximize the returns on the investment.

He stressed that excellence is the hallmark of every action and programs undertaken by the Ministry locally and internationally.

Mr Naivalurua encouraged the new recruits to take ownership of the Ministry’s vision on building a stronger, safer and prosperous Fiji through excellence in Foreign Service and to work in unity, inspire to innovate and excel in their professional and personal aspirations.

During the training there were presentations on the Ministry’s strategic plan, programs, corporate services, protocol services, financial regulations and overall operations.

There were also interactive sessions on the civil service values and code of conduct, civil service reforms, budget processes and parliament roles.
