Forecast for floods

A HEAVY rain warning is still in force for the Fiji Group, with flooding of low-lying areas forecasted.
The Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) says a strong wind warning also remains in force for land areas of Northern Vanua Levu, the Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Western and Northern Viti Levu, Lomaiviti, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.
A flood warning is also in place for low-lying areas and small streams from Vatukacevaceva Station to Rakiraki Town, low-lying areas and streams adjacent from Dreketilailai Station to Qawa River and for low lying areas and small streams from Nasivi Station to Tavua Town.
Meanwhile, Tropical Disturbance 12F was analysed to the far west of Fiji and is gradually intensifying.
The system is moving east southeast at about 10kilometres per hour and is expected to pass just southwest of the country.
