THE Real Estate Agents Licensing Board (REALB) has embarked on a mission to raise awareness on the roles and functions of the board through roadshows in the different divisions.
According to the board it hosted a successful roadshow in Korovou Town, Tailevu and the Nausori Municipal Market recently. The team from REALB made presentations to the members of the public explaining the various laws and regulations governing the real estate industry. According to a press release from the board, the objective of the roadshow was to raise awareness on the role and functions of the board, the importance of engaging licensed agents when dealing in real estate business, and being aware of the risks associated with using bogus/unlicensed agents.
REALB compliance and monitoring officer Vinal Singh said they were overwhelmed with the high turnout and the level of interest shown by those present. He said the roadshow was a great opportunity to engage with the public and raised awareness about the services provided by the organization.
“We hope that the roadshow will encourage more people to make more informed decisions and also to promote greater accountability and transparency among agents in the real estate industry. This is just the beginning and we will continue to hold more roadshows to reach out to more Fijians,” said Mr Singh.
Questions from the large number of attendees included licensing of real estate agents, approval of salespersons and branch managers, and the issuance of permits to undertake transactions in the real estate industry.
The REALB team will be conducting a roadshow in Sigatoka Town on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
