The Fiji National Rugby League will launch the Women’s 13 Premiership next week where rugby league clubs around the country will compete for top honours.

FNRL acting chief executive officer Don Natabe said women in the country had been achieving remarkable feats in the sporting arena in the past few years and they would like to provide a platform for these players to showcase their talents.

“For the first time, 13 women’s teams have got together to celebrate the spirit of inclusion,” said Natabe.

“This comes after our movement to include women as part of the sport. This year, we are actually looking to launch a FNRL women’s 13 Premiership in the coming week and we are excited to announce 13 teams from 13 rugby league clubs around the country who have put their hand up to be involved with this new movement.”
