FNRL receives boost ahead of world cup

FIJIANS, the Fiji National Rugby League family and members of the Fiji Bati to the 2017 Rugby League World Cup stand to gain from a three-year partnership announced yesterday.

The deal is between FNRL and BLK (Beyond Limits Known), an international sportswear manufacturer which has its outlets in Fiji.

The two bodies signed the deal yesterday.

It is worth $130,000 a year, starting this year, and into the RLWC. FNRL chairman Filimoni Vosarogo acknowledged BLK for its continuous support, and in upgrading the living standard of Fijians.

“As our own local brand that has its name known to the rest of the world, we acknowledge BLK, not only as a partner, but also for providing employment for our people,” said Vosarogo.

BLK executive Liga Gukisuva said the partnership would be reviewed each year.

“The first $130,000 is for this year alone,” he said.

“This is a customer-tailor made solution that stands to gain everyone. The partnership will also benefit the clubs and offers a fifty per cent discount to any club associated under FNRL for their sportswear. Any club affiliated under FNRL gets a 50 per cent discount from BLK playing apparels.”

Members of the public will also gain from the agreement which will see BLK merchandise at reduced and affordable costs, especially in the lead up to the RLWC in Australia later in the year.
