THE Fiji National Rugby League has formed a united front with Petero Civoniceva on the New South Wales Cup bid, scheduled to take place in 2018.
This was confirmed during a joint meeting between the FNRL Board and National Rugby League and former Fiji Bati legend, Petero Civoniceva last Saturday, which saw a positive outcome.
FNRL chief executive officer Timoci Naleba confirmed they hoped to strengthen the bid application to the NSW Rugby League, and that at the same time, having that single front will be more beneficial for FNRL and also the interest that Civoniceva had to help develop the game in Fiji.
“The intention of this united front is that, considering the limited resources we have, it is better that we face this particular objective with singleness,” Naleba said.
He said this was the main motive behind getting in the two parties and going into this particular venture with just one bid.
Petero Civoniceva was also present last Saturday as chief guest for the Fiji primary schools Gala Day finals, and was impressed with the performance displayed by students.
