Flying Fijians set for Northern Tour

Update: 8:48PM THE Flying Fijians coaching staff along with some local players including Jale Sassen, Peni Ravai, Mesake Doge, Mosese Voka, Seru Vularika and Eremasi Radrodro are set to fly off on their end of the year Northern Tour where they would be playing the World Barbarians, England and Japan.

Flying Fijian head coach John Mckee said they would liaise first with their New Zealand-based players before they meet with their European-based players in Toulouse, France on Sunday night.

“Three days of intensive training Monday through to Wednesday, including some of those training with Georgia,” Mckee said.

He said some of their professional players would return to their clubs while the other southern hemisphere players would continue with their conditioning and skills training.

“We want to do a few things differently for this tour, especially playing England and we know that Eddie Jones is a very good and smart coach and they have a very strong defensive system.”

He said they had looked at how they played and it was important during the camp to get the message across to all the players that they would be doing things differently this time around.
