Flying Fijians: Matavesi says Fiji can win

FLYING Fijians hooker Sam Matavesi believes the Flying Fijians have what it takes to beat the Wallabies in their opening 2019 Rugby World Cup match.

“Of course we have what it takes,” Matavesi said.

The All Blacks beat the Wallabies last weekend,” Matavesi said that he also watched.

“As a group we watched it and it was intense.

“We had a meeting in the morning (yesterday), and now we are lifting ourselves to another level,” he said.

Matavesi joins his brother Josh and for the first time in representing Fiji in Japan and are both putting in the hard yards towards the RWC.

“We still have time to improve and it’s important that we rise together as a team if we want to beat the Wallabies,” Matavesi said he was eager to get to the world cup and was ready to battle it out with the remaining teams in the pool.

“I want to play all of them,” he said.

“We have Australia, and a muscle Test with Georgia. “Uruguay who we played last November and then Wales so every game is going to be a massive game,” Matavesi said.
