Five day workshop to teach lessons on invasive marine species

THIRTY-FIVE participants from around the region are taking part in a five day BioFouling workshop underway in Suva.

Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji Acting Chief Executive Officer Captain Philip Hill said the workshop will be for five days that will teach lessons on invasive marine species that are entering our waters.

Captain Hill said the participants from the 14 Pacific countries will be led and guided by experts in the field in the week-long workshop.

According to MSAF Fiji has been selected by the International Maritime Organisation to be one of the 12 countries that will lead the Bio Fouling project in the Pacific.
