Update: 2:23PM A FIRE destroyed four classrooms and a storage room at the Naduna Technical College on Wednesday night.

A statement from the National Fire Authority said they had attended to the fire last night and saved the property from being completely destroyed.

The NFA said the fire destroyed five classrooms made up of corrugated iron and timber with concrete flooring while five other neighbouring classrooms were saved.

At 9.29pm, Labasa Fire Station received a fire emergency call and immediately responded. Upon arrival at 9.43pm, the fire team saw the middle section of the building involving five classrooms fully engulfed in flames.

The fire team quickly got to work using deliveries of water from their fire trucks and also utilised water from the college water tank to contain the blaze.
