FIJIANS are born to be peacekeepers.

This was the statement made by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu while closing the US peacekeeping training at the Police Response Unit today.

ACP Tudravu said this was an added training to support what was already there for all Fijian officers.

He said bringing trainers to Fiji was beneficial because it allowed many officers to be trained rather than sending one or two officers abroad for training.

US Trainer and Police Instructor Rogelio Flores said the officers were enthusiastic during the three-week training session.

He said the officers did the best they could with the resources available.

A total of 26 police officers received their certificates today.
