The Fiji 7s team fell short of a bronze medal after a hard fought contest losing to Argentina 19-12 in the third and fourth place play-off during the Dubai 7s tournament yesterday.
Debutant and second placed DHL impact player of the tournament, Joseva Talacolo said they were proud of their first performance, especially as the majority of them having a first taste of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
“A lot of us are new players and it has been tough, coming to play in our first international tournament,” Talacolo said.
“We all come from playing in our local tournaments back home and to play in Dubai, is another level.”
The Fiji policeman said they were a young team and looked to garner their experience.
He said they could get better as the series continued and with the support of all their fans back home.
“We know that everyone back home are supporting us, and without their support it wouldn’t be possible to get the job done here.”
Talacolo put in a massive performance during the first tournament with 19 tackles, three breaks, nine offloads and 22 carries and will betted to put in another strong performance this weekend.
