Fiji’s Electoral Commission has dismissed an appeal by the HOPE (Humanity Opportunity Prosperity Equality) party after considering submissions from both the party and Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem.

The Commission had received an appeal under section 30 of the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013 on February 24, 2022, from the party appealing the decision of the Registrar of Political Parties for deregistering the party.

The Commission then invited HOPE leader Tupou Draunidalo and Mr Saneem on February 24, 2022, to present their submissions to the Commission.

After considering submissions from both Ms Draunidalo and Mr Saneem, the Commission made the decision to dismiss the appeal.
