FIJI’S Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum met the United States Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asia and Pacific Security Affairs, Randall Schriver, yesterday afternoon.
A Government statement issued on Friday night stated that during the meet, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum and Mr Schriver discussed areas of mutual cooperation in defence and national security; effects of climate change in Fiji and the region; Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; Mr Bainimarama’s tour of the Middle East; and the Government’s domestic efforts to further economic growth.
The statement quoted Mr Schriver thanking the Fijian Government for the collaboration and support and he looked forward to further deepening the relationship between the two countries.
