Water Authority of Fiji chairman Bhavesh Kumar has urged Fijians to continue paying their water bills and not let it accumulate until March 31, 2021.
In a statement, he said WAF would continue providing water services to Fijians across the country and would not disconnect Fijians who were genuinely impacted by COVID-19.
“At the end of the day, water is a key tool in COVID-19 prevention,” he said.
“Fijians should always store up to two days of drinking water and take all steps to conserve water, especially during the drought season.”
He said the 2020-2021 budget “is a positive and encouraging step forward for Fiji”.
“What we can see in this budget is a number of very positive measures that will help Fiji build the necessary resilience to weather the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.”
