Update: 2:03PM FIJIANS will now have the chance to further their studies in one of China’s prominent agriculture university.
This comes after the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama requested the Chinese Government if Fijians could be given the green light to
to study agricultural production methods at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.
A Department of Information statement said Mr Bainimarama had met with senior officials of the Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University last week.
“I am confident that the strong and growing Fiji-China relations will result in more people-to-people exchanges between the Fujian Province and our country,” Mr Bainimarama said.
The university’s council chairperson Ye Huiling welcomed Mr Bainimarama’s proposals and called for closer engagement so that both parties can learn from each other.
The university currently engages with the Fijian government by providing research and capacity building assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture.
