THE Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team is targeting a Top 8 finish in this weekend’s Women Sevens World Series Canada tournament.
The side faces England in its opening game before facing Brazil and Commonwealth Gold medallist New Zealand in their remaining pool games.
Head coach Iliesa Tanivula said the team had set its target and would work hard to fulfil its goal.
“We have been drawn in a tough pool and it’s a huge challenge for the team,” Tanivula said.
“Our aim is to finish at the top eight and we need to beat England in our first game to set our platform for the competition.”
Tanivula said the girls were confident of a good outing and would do their best to upset England.
He said another challenge was on the five replacement players to make their mark this weekend.
The players are Rejieli Daveua, Merewai Cumu, Asinate Savu, Jiowana Sauto and Mereula Toroti.
The game against England kicks off on Sunday at 6.58am followed by Brazil at 9.52am.
