The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team will need to play smart if they want to win the Sydney 7s.
Coach Saiasi Fuli said since they were in one of the toughest pool they need to work hard to get to the top. “We are prepared well mentally during the week,” he said.
“We know that to progress and move to the quarter-final we need to play smart and hard.
“The players need to be tough and mentally strong to play during under pressure moments. Unfortunately we didn’t start well against Great Britain but we came stronger against USA and Canada.
“We need to recover well and reassess and analyze what is in front of us.”
Fuli said he was very happy and content with the performance from the new players.
“We have lost a lot of players, some have been rested and some will come in later but as a coach we need to be strong and tough.
“We must also trust what we have in the system and I am happy with the new girls as they deliver against these top teams.
“That is the way to go, we expose them and we put them out there against the top teams as that is the only way learn and improve and hopefully we can maintain form.”
