“Continue to amaze us.”

President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere made this parting remarks to the team members of the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua team when he received their i-tautauat the State House in Suva today.

“What you are today is an inspiration to young ladies who aspire to be rugby players,” Ratu Wiliame told the players.

“Continue to amaze us. You amazed us last year and you will do that again this year.”

The Fijiana Drua, who are the defending champions of the Super W competition, will face the Brumbies for their first match in the competition next Saturday at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.

The Fijiana Drua will play against Melbourne Rebels Women on April 1 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva before departing the country to Sydney, Australia, to play three away matches against the NSW Waratahs, Western Force and the Queensland Reds.

The side has been boosted with the inclusion of Fijiana XVs prop Siteri Rasolea and former ACT Brumbies prop Ana Korovata.

In their inaugural Super W season last year, the Fijiana Drua created history after going unbeaten throughout the season and defeating four-time Super W champion Waratahs 32-26 in the final.
