ROOSTER Chicken Fijiana Drua captain Bitila Tawake said she was confident that the team had what it took to defend the Super W title.
She revealed that the side has been in the camp for the past 10 weeks undergoing various training programs in order to prepare and gel in for the 2023 season.
“We have eight or nine girls from past season and we have developed a good bonding,” said the 2022 Super W winning captain.
Tawake said she was honoured to lead the girls again this season.
“There is lot of pressure on us as there are high expectations to lift the trophy again this year.”
When asked whether she thinks the current team could repeat the historic unbeaten run from last season, Tawake said the team needed to believe in themselves.
“We can do anything as long as we put our mind to it and our hearts to it. “I think just by working together and playing for each other means a lot to us.
“We have been hitting the sand dunes in Sigatoka for the past 10 weeks and it has physically shaped the team well.”
Fijiana Drua player Asinate Serevi called on the fans to come and support the team as they play in front of their home crowd against the ACT Brumbies this Saturday at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park.
“To the fans, pease come out and support the girls and show your love to the team.”
