FIJI senior women’s football striker Sofi Diyalowai has been offered a nine-day trial with French club Stade de Reims.

Diyalowai, who won the 2013 Fiji FA women football of the year award, has been representing the nation from the junior level.

The 25-year-old is in Vanuatu to process her visa to get to France.

Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel said it was a proud moment for women’s football in the country.

“Sofi is an exceptional player and it is up to her to make a mark,” Patel said.

“She can become the first professional women’s footballer from Fiji to play in France.

“Fiji FA is footing the costs for the airfares to Vanuatu and France.

“Roy Krishna is our professional player in the A-League and Esala Masi played professional football in Australia before.”

In March, Stade de Reims was declared as the French Division Two champions hence gaining promotion to the Division One for the 2019-2020 season.
