Sela Ravuravu’s dream of playing in the Australian National Rugby League (NRL) is slowly materialising.

The 18-year-old Sabeto Roosters winger scored three tries in the APCO Western States 9s tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Saturday.

Despite his club bowing out in the semi-final, he still held his head high.

Ravuravu has been pencilled by NRL scouts and is expected to fly out in coming weeks to attend trials in Australia.

“My am is to be in a better place, perhaps getting an overseas club contract so I can really play to my full potential,” Ravuravu said.

He said he would take up the opportunity with both hands.

Ravuravu hails from Serua but was brought up in his mother’s village of Sabeto in Nadi.

He attended Sabeto District School before moving to Sabeto College and Ratu Navula College, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the men’s open category, Ravoravo Rabbitohs took out the 2022 APCO Western State 9s final with 6-4 win over Burenitu.
