Fijian team to run in Malaysia

FIJI will be represented by more than a dozen runners during the 80th anniversary of the Mother Hash which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 14-16.

The event is classed as a homecoming celebration with hashing originating in Malaysia in 1938.

Fiji hosted the 21st anniversary of the Inter-hash with a run in Nadi and Lautoka in May this year.

Fiji Hash grandmaster Doctor Ram Raju is part of the contingent that flew out to Malaysia yesterday.

Nadi Hash Harriers grandmaster Babu Singh said the Malaysia tourney would have more than 2000 runners.

“It is the 80th anniversary this year so they have put on a big show for us. There are eight of us going today and the others will join us later.

“It is a big event like the Interhash. There will about 2500 participants. “We hosted the 21st anniversary of the Inter-hash in May and it was fantastic.”
