Fijian Latui narrowly clinch first Global Rapid Rugby match

THE Swire Shipping Fijian Latui came from behind to defeat Kagifa Samoa 38-32 in the Global Rapid Rugby Pacific Showcase match at Churchill Park in Lautoka this afternoon.
Down 32-31 in the dying moments replacement Nadroga winger Ifereimi Tovilevu dived over in the corner to steal victory from the visitors. Television match official Johnson Lee gave the green light for the grounding sending the home fans into a frenzy. Apisolome Waqatabu sealed the match with the conversion.
John Stewart scored a brace of tries for the Fijian Latui while Tuidraki Samusamuvodre claimed the first nine point power try. Peni Nalogo and Johnny Dyer scored the other tries for the Fijian Latui and Waqatabu kicked two conversions.
Paki Afu scored a brace of tries for Kagifa Samoa and Michael McKee, Dylan Lam scored a try each.
Latiume Fosita kicked two penalties and three conversions.
Fijian Latui will play the Western Force at Churchill Park next Saturday.
