The Fijian Government has deployed COVID Safe Ambassadors to conduct surveillance of Fijian businesses to ensure operations are in compliance with COVID-19 safety measures.

The ambassadors’ duties are sanctioned by the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transports – in collaboration with the Ministry of Health & Medical Services, Fiji Police Force, and Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission as part of a COVID-19 Joint Task Force.

According to the Government, the COVID Safe Ambassador had commenced issuing Public Health Infringement Notices to Fijian businesses that are non-compliant of COVID-19 Health Protocols.

“The ministry’s COVID-Safe Ambassadors have been deployed to closely observe and advise mandatory minimum parametres for safely operating businesses and remain visible on the ground around Fiji, ensuring and encouraging COVID-Safe protocols are adhered to,” the Government stated.
