FIJI’S Ambassador to the United Nations Dr Satyendra Prasad paid a courtesy call to the President of the UN General Assembly Miroslav Lacjak last week.
Ambassador Prasad congratulated Mr Lacjak for convening the Youth Dialogue held at the UN Headquarters on May 30.
He said the implementation of the Sustainable Development goals required the direct participation and involvement of youths from around the world.
He assured Mr Lacjak that he was ready to support the UNGA’s mandates of reform and other issues that were of importance to Fiji.
The UNGA has approved the most comprehensive reform for the UN development system after decades and this will help to reposition the UN country offices to support governments in implementing its development priorities effectively.
