THE Vodafone Fiji national women’s football side visited patients at the children’s ward at the Colonial War Memorial hospital today.

It was a touching experience for members of the team after a month of grueling sessions on the field.

Coach Marika Rodu said the visit today was an eye-opener for them.

“It is something which is important for us. This reminds the team that we represent each and everyone from Fiji,” Rodu said.

He said his team members felt good to have brought smiles to the faces of the children.

“It gives you that sense of belonging which we do not experience every day in our lives. The girls will definitely want to revisit this place in the future.”

The side leaves for Vanuatu next Monday where they will play the hosts and Singapore in international friendlies.
