FIJI Women’s Blue team coach Teresia Vocevoce was not happy despite their win against Solomon Islands by three sets to one 26-24, 24-26, 25-23 and 25-20 during the 2016 Oceania Zonal competition at the Vodafone Arena in Laucala Bay, yesterday.
Vocevoce said the team did not play to expectation.
She said her players underestimated their opponents.
“Our game plan did not work according to what we had planned. It was a lesson to us and I think we did a little bit of underestimation there towards a team that was really good on defence,” Vocevoce said.
She said they would go back and work on the weaknesses that was identified during the game against the Solomon Islands.
She said some of their players lacked confidence and self-belief during the early stages of the game.
She later commended the Solomon Island women’s team as a very good defensive side.
