The first group of passengers to arrive from Hong Kong onboard a Fiji Airways flight after three years arrived into the country today.

The group of 260 passengers that arrived at the Nadi International Airport early this morning was greeted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism Viliame Gavoka, Fiji Airways managing director Andre Viljoen and Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill.

Mr Gavoka said the excitement was strong among tourism workers and guests.

“This Hong Kong to Nadi flight is operating at a 90 per cent load factor,” he said.

“It has been three years since we welcomed our direct route to Hong Kong.

“Three years without a very critical connectivity between Fiji and our Pacific brothers and sisters.”
