THE Ravinesh Kumar coached Fiji under-20 team will tour the United States of America next year.
This has been made possible by the Fiji USA Soccer Federation.
Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel said they held a fruitful discussion with Javed Sahib the president of their USA affiliate and their liaison officer Narend Narayan.
“The Fiji USA Football Federation will look after the meals, accommodation and transportation of the team,” he said.
“They will line-up matches for us and we hope to strengthen our relationship with them.
“I will be going to Morocco in December for the FIFA executive committee meeting where I will be meeting with the president of United States Soccer Federation Sunil Golati who is keen to help us as well.”
Meanwhile, the Fiji U20 will play four matches against A-League clubs in Australia later this month.
The tour is part of the team’s preparations for the inaugural Oceania Football Confederation President’s Cup in New Zealand from November 17-23.
The competition has attracted six teams from three confederations with Oceania champions Auckland City FC, Amicale of Vanuatu, Bodden Town from the Cayman Islands, former Bahraini champions Busaiteen FC, Fiji U20 and Singapore U23.
The tour will give players the exposure as they buildup towards the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
