THE Fiji under 16 rugby team had its final training run today culminating six weeks of preparation for the Australia Junior Rugby Championship at The Southport School at the Gold Coast, Australia.

Fiji kicks off the week-long competition against New South Wales II (NSW II) at 12pm tomorrow.

Captain Maximus Lestro advised his team members to play with pride, give their all for Fiji.

Lestro said some players were travelling overseas for the first time and found a lot of things interesting.

‘We know our first game won’t be easy. We will focus on our line outs, scrums and defence,’ Lestro said.

He added the players have adapted to the weather which was ‘like in Fiji but windy’.

Coach Masi Saqanavere is expecting a good outcome based on their preparation in the last six weeks.

‘We are hoping for a good result but that will depend on the boys execution tomorrow.’

Fiji is in Pool B with NSW II, Queens land I, and ACT.

In Pool A are NSW I, Queensland II, Victoria and Western Australia.
