Fiji rugby fans in Paris from around Europe

RUGBY sevens has drawn Fijians from all corners of Europe to watch the Vodafone Fiji 7s team play at the HSBC Paris 7s.
Fans have come from Switzerland, Brussels, United Kingdom, Germany and even the Netherlands. Fijians living in France, in particular rugby players have played host to the “visitors”.
On Saturday night (Paris time), the ruggers led by former national reps Sisa Koyamaibole, Julian Vulakoro, Fero Lasagavibau, Napolioni Nalaga to name a few hosted a barbecue and held a fundraising drive for the team.
Fiji’s ambassador Brussels, Deo Saran was also in attendance.
Saran thanked the players for hosting the fundraising drive and also relayed some of the embassy’s plans including an update of its database of Fijians living in Europe.
The drive was held at a branch of the BRED Bank in Paris. Mr Saran also thanked the bank for its continued support of the Fijian community.
Koyamaibole, who is the president of the Fiji France Players Association said the club’s intention was to try and prepare players for a better life when they returned.
Former national sevens player and coach, Waisale Serevi attended the event.
