Fiji Red Cross acknowledges blood donors

THE Fiji Red Cross Society marked World Blood Donation Day yesterday by inviting members of the public to donate blood to those who are and or will be in need of it.
Fiji Red Cross Society manager programs Dr Setareki Vatucawaqa said the special day was a time to commemorate the generosity of blood donors around the world.
He made special acknowledgement of donors in Fiji saying this was a big humanitarian gift in terms of saving lives.
“Every day, there are operations, casualties, accidents and children are born and because blood is a necessity and it is needed for various procedures,” Dr Vatucawaqa said.
He acknowledged all the 26 participants who also donated blood at the event.
