Fiji Police still searching for missing Russian tourist

Fiji Police have received new information on the disappearance of Russian tourist Illdar Rakhmatulin who went missing in Sigatoka earlier this year.

Assistant Commissioner of Crime ACP Sakeo Raikaci said while they were following up on the new leads, they had yet to locate Mr Illdar Rakhmatulin,” said ACP Raikaci.

Police said Mr Rakhmatulin arrived into the country in April and was staying at a hotel along the Coral Coast.

Initial investigations found his belongings, which included a mobile phone on a beach.

Mr Raikaci said search efforts were conducted on land while divers were deployed from the Police Mobile Force to nearby waters.

Members of the public have been urged to come forward with information that would help find the missing tourist.
