Fijian Police officers will be out in numbers today to enforce COVID-19 safe measures as the country marks its Constitution Day public holiday today.

Police are reminding members of the public that the COVID safe protocols were still in place, and particularly advised against social gatherings.

It stated that the public holiday did not mean relaxed restrictions on gatherings.

“Picnics are prohibited and we have received information about people going out to popular picnic spots such as Nukulau Island,” Police said.

And it reiterated the warning by the Ministry of Health that all Fijians must not be complacent and continue to comply with the safe measures.
