Fifty-seven Inspectors graduated last week after a month-long Inspectors Qualifying Course at the Fiji Police Academy.

While officiating at the closing ceremony, Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu had advised graduates of the need to take ownership of their responsibility because they had played a very key role in the organisation.

“You’re the link between the senior hierarchy and the subordinates, which mean you are the one who will implement the intent of the organisation and channel it down to the men on the ground, and remember the organisation will not sail smoothly if you sleep on the job,” Mr Tudravu said.

The Acting Commissioner said as leaders, they had to have empathy and understanding and knew that their leadership styles would determine how the officers under their command would be able to produce the required outputs needed to achieve the organisation’s intent.

Meanwhile, Inspector Raijeli Kunakata, Inspector Iisapeci Tuvuki, Inspector Jekope Latu, and Inspector Prashant Prasad had received special awards for their outstanding performances.
