Fiji PM terminates Minister Sudhakar after sexual harassment allegations emerge

Government Member of Parliament and Minister for Lands Ashneel Sudakhar has been terminated from his ministerial position as of this afternoon.

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum confirmed Mr Sudakhar was terminated by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama for allegations of sexual harassment.

He said a disciplinary committee consisting of FijiFirst party members who would be overseeing the internal investigations would be convened at the earliest.

He also confirmed that the PM would appoint an acting Minister or a substantive Minister in due course.
