FIJI Pearls match against the New Zealand invitational men’s was tough as they went down 93-19 on Wednesday night.

Coach Vicki Wilson said the men’s team was always going to be tough due to the men being physically stronger, faster, and bigger.

“They are expected to beat every team they play,” Wilson said.

“It was a massive step up in intensity and skill.  Episake Kahatoka was outstanding and got her hands to many deflections and intercepts.

“The lesson learnt in our through court and centre pass attack was that we need to utilise change of direction more and when we do this, our game is played down the middle of the court instead of the sidelines.”

They will take on the Silver Ferns tomorrow night.
