FIJI offers one of the best deals to film makers.
Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Premila Kumar said this while officiating at the opening ceremony of the Eco-Challenge Fiji in Tailevu yesterday.
“The Fijian Government continues to encourage audio-visual productions with the best film rebate incentive in the world of 75 percent for all costs incurred in Fiji,” Mrs Kumar said.
Over the last five years, the audio visual industry has raked in more than $800 million into the local economy.
Last year alone, the industry recorded 106 productions `with a value of $265million.
“This year has kicked off with a bang and I’m happy to say the first half of the year alone has already hosted $102 million worth of productions,” she said.
Meanwhile Eco- Challenge is being shot in Fiji after a lapse of 17 years.
