Fiji naval officers undergo training with Aussie navy

THE Commander of the Australian Navy’s Defence Cooperation Program Sea Training Unit (DCP STU), John Cowan, Royal Australian Navy (RAN) commended the crew members of the Republic of Fiji Navy Ship, Kikau for their professionalism and attitude in their work.

This was relayed in a statement by the Australian High Commission in Suva yesterday after Kikau crew members worked with the DCP STU to polish up on processes and procedures while conducting a patrol of the Fijian Exclusive Economic Zone.

Commanding Officer for Kikau Lieutenant Commander Joseva Tunidau will now spend time with the crew members at the HMAS Cairns where they will now prepare for the upcoming multi-national maritime exercise, Exercise KAKADU, which is based out of Darwin, Australia, and will return at the start of October.
